I have a barred rock chick I would like to rehome, but I am not sure where to post it. I don't want to sell her, rather just give her to somebody who would offer a good home. I am scared to list on CL because there are some people here who buy for slaughter, but it's not a kind keeping until then. Wasn't sure if I could post something for free in the auction and sales.. It says you need a min price. Or should I post it here? Thanks for any help!

Ask your local feed stores if you could a) post a sign looking for a home, or b) if they will take and hold the chick until someone wants it.

It's safe to assume you are trying to re-home a male right?

You said chick, and she, so is it a she? How old, etc. I live in Redding and I am coming to Vacaville on Saturday. I might be interested in taking it from you. I have a bunch of bantams and one standard barred rock that is less than 1 year. I just love her, she is quite a gal.

Technically, it would be posted in BSA with a price of $0.

Hope you can find the chick a nice home, but won't it get lonely?

I have no idea whether this chick is roo or pullet. My feed store gets their chicks from Belt, and they have 90-95 percent pullet ratio. She is 2 weeks old today, I do have pictures, and I can hold her until she is about 5-6 weeks if you want to know for sure whether she is a roo or pullet.

I am hoping to send her with somebody who has chickens, or better yet, chicks. I don't think I would give her away as a lone chicken, just for the sake of company. I will post this in the auction area too, but if anybody here is around Sacramento and has room for one more chicky, please do PM me. Thanks
