Thank you to everyone for the wonderful ideas. I removed the rooster from the girls, he was very upset about the move. But, I think it has been very beneficial for the girls. I'm going to give the girls a few more weeks and then see how he behaves. The coop is long and narrow, roughly 25 ft long and 5 feet wide. Next year I hope to expand the coop width another 4 to 5 feet (dreams for the future). Even though the square footage is OK, being narrow makes it feel a cramped.
