Am I allowed to ask that here?

We have the standard 24 foot round, above ground. A-frame ladder.

My wife has me building a deck. The original A-frame ladder will no longer
work with this plan.

Looking at deck ladders.

I like the one that has steps inside the pool. Big nice steps. (Wife no longer
gets around like a spring chicken)

Any BYC member have the deck ladders, or better yet the step version and
how do you like them?

(You step from our main deck to the new pool deck. That deck will also allow
access to the raised garden beds and the coop area.)

We use the big steps in our pool...
I LOVE it.. its so much better then the small ladders.
We just screwed them onto our deck.. easy peasy...

I don't have any ladder in my pool, only steps, but mine is in the ground. I never did particularly like the pool ladders though, easier to pull myself out without the ladder than with it.

They work great, just have to weight down the step underwater.. ps and use the small straps to hold them to the deck.

Steps in... but ours is in ground also, in fact I'm sitting here on the back porch and watching 3 of my kids and two neighbor kids playing Marco Polo.

Above ground pool here with deck.

We have the in pool steps. Had the ladder. Prefer the steps.

They are hollow plastic, before you put the upper handles on, fill the bottom halves of the frame with play sand. The steps themselves are vented, so when placed in the pool they will float for a few seconds until the steps fill with water, then they will settle down into the pool. All you have to do then is bolt/screw the brackets to the deck to hold them in place.
