I have 4 barnyard mix chicks. 2 have pretty long tail feathers, 2 don't. They are 4 weeks old. I'm just curious if the 2 with no tails will ever grow them if I haven't seen them by now. They look so funny! All legs and stumpy rumps.

I'm pretty sure one of the chicks is a boy. 3 row pea comb getting pink already. The other may be, too. They both have bald shoulders on top of having no tail feathers. I'll see if I can get decent shots of their butts before sundown. I appreciate all who will take a look.

It is quite possible that they will grow tails in later. I have a friend who had a purebred barred rock that took a few months to finally grow in a decent tail.
Are they from your eggs? If so do you have any hens or roosters without tails?
