You won't see the actual worm. The medication kills the worm and it's head detaches from it's hold and the worm gets digested.
Good thing too! Tapeworms are gross looking.

I would recommend talking to your vet about getting another dose in a few weeks to make sure you got all of the tapeworms at different life cycle stages.
