hello..i am trying to set up a LG still air bator to hatch crested Pekin duck eggs...i am still confused as how to get a temp at the top of the egg (as i have been told to do)....how do you do that?...i will be using a therm/hydro gauge that sits on the wire mesh by the eggs in the bator...how do i know what the temps are at the top of the egg?..

....also...the little channels under the wire..are for the water?...help please...

...thanks!, Wendy

For the temp at the top of the bator put a block or something in there and then set the therm on it. And the channels at the bottom are for water

thanks!..what can i use?..wood?....small plate/bowl turned upside down?...thanks so much for answering me so quickly..., Wendy

What I did is I got the temp stable at about 100 when the therm was of the wire in the bottom. Then I put the eggs in and then put the therm on top of the eggs. It only needed a little adjusting(ball spelling lol) once they were in.
