Oh I have lost some chicks but for the most, have been pretty lucky. I do put them up at night so it is just the day they have to worry about. But I still think they are happier birds

I've kept chickens and turkeys together both in pens and free range. Never had a Tom try to mate a chicken. I have had a young cockerel try to mate with a turkey but that was just plain funny, size does matter:gig
