Question about well water

I have well water, while I know this is not good to give to your ducks as a good source of drinking water so I buy gallon jugs of filtered water from Walmart. They should be going outside to live soon... would it be a bad idea to fill a kid pool up with well water? Or is there any other options I have?

Why is it not good for ducks? Do you have a water softener? What are the minerals in your water?

If you have had it tested and its potable then its good for you and your ducks

We have well water we drink it and so do our animals.

Is your well water safe for you to drink? If so, it's fine for ducks too. We have well water, and filter it for ourselves because it has a slight sulfur taste, but my animals drink it and swim in it.

We have a well, we all drink from it and are fine... why isn’t it good for ducks?

(Raises hand) Well water here, too! MIL lived to be 93 on it. We don't have ducks, but the cats, dogs, kids, chickens, DH and myself are all alive and kickin' on it!

My well is amazing, best water I’ve ever tasted. I get comments on how good it is

I would get your water tested before you allow your birds to drink well water. Our water is quite high in sodium even though we drank it for years. Unknowingly all my birds, (indoor parrots, outdoor quail and chickens) developed high blood pressure and heart disease from drinking water with high concentrations of sodium. So be careful.

Thats realy interesting, Did any guests mention a salty taste or all your copper fittings wrot off? i imagine youd get used to it but a guest would notice
