I have well water, while I know this is not good to give to your ducks as a good source of drinking water so I buy gallon jugs of filtered water from Walmart. They should be going outside to live soon... would it be a bad idea to fill a kid pool up with well water? Or is there any other options I have?

We have a well, we all drink from it and are fine... why isn’t it good for ducks?

I would get your water tested before you allow your birds to drink well water. Our water is quite high in sodium even though we drank it for years. Unknowingly all my birds, (indoor parrots, outdoor quail and chickens) developed high blood pressure and heart disease from drinking water with high concentrations of sodium. So be careful. :-)
