Question about what type of chick we have and how to reintroduce to other chicks of another breed.

We recently adopted this chick, now 6 weeks old, from my daughter's kindergarten class. Can anyone tell me what type it might be? Also, there were 2 other chicks that hatched at the same time that have been with another family since about 1 week out. They will be coming to live with us and our chick permanently. Any tips or advice on reintroducing them to each other?

Could be a mutt or could be a barred Cochin... not sure!

To reintroduce (they will definitely not remember each other), put up a wire separation between the two "groups" for as long as you can, at least a few days, preferably more like a week. This way they can get to know each other through the wire without doing any damage. When you do introduce them to each other, give them as much space as possible so that they can run away from a more dominant chicken, and place extra feeders and waterers so no one can be a bully and keep them from eating and drinking. It may be easier on the newly introduced pair as they will outnumber your original chick.
