Well, it's getting cold here, and while I have not seen a drop in egg production like I was expecting, the eggs have gotten smaller. is that normal?

We are sitting at -35 today, and production from my girls has only dropped a little (I have seven hens and usually get 6 eggs a day, on average). Some are definitely smaller, and I'm not getting any double yolks, but probably half are still regular size. My girls are less than a year old, so maybe it drops in the cold when they get older?
