Question about Wyandottes

OOOOOOOOHHHH...I'm getting hatchery Wyandottes in mid-July and now I'm super-excited (like I wasn't already?)! Thanks for sharing photos, everyone.

My silver laced are pretty - 2 years old now, but they're not the great layers that leghorns are. They were slow to develop, are very shy of me, won't get close, and they molt early and don't lay for about 3 months. Light brown eggs are smaller than leghorns, too.

I probably won't get them again, tho they are pretty with my dark brahma rooster - cute lawn ornaments
