You really don't need to have either of the plugs out until day 18, then you take them both out. There should be at least 8 small holes in the top of the bator, and I think the same amount in the bottom.

However, I just leave mine out all the time, so I know how much I need to add to up it near the end. That way you aren't fighting with the new air supply, as well as trying to raise it higher at the same time. Opening the vent holes will make it lose more humidity. It's just easier for me to do it this way, but neither needs to be out right now.

Plus I would raise the humidity up to at least 40%m, possibly 45%. I have heard ducks need more humidity, and 35-45% is the norm.
