Question for cage builders

I have lots of cedar planks laying around from a tree i cut. can i make a hutch out of those cedar planks?. i know cedar shavings are bad Ju Ju for quails but i did'nt know it it applied for the building materials

It may be ok but I don't think I would take a chance. Even old, weathered cedar gives off fumes.

I have a chicken coop with cedar siding. If the wood is on the inside, i would seal it or paint it.

Cedar is a very common wood used in birdhouses and wood duck boxes. I personally would not hesitate to use it but then again I am no quail expert...
