The local LDS church will help ANYONE, member or non-member, and has the largest database of Genealogical info in the country and world. Look up the number in your phone book under "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints". You can call them and ask for the name and number of the "Family History Director". They frequently have hours open during the week and they will spend as much time as necessary (FOR FREE) to help you.

Ill be writing the SS office today, thanks for the address!
Ill also be working my way into the LDS records as soon as I can. They have limited hours, so ill have to work it around working and such, but I bet I will find a tresure trove of stuff.

As for more information...He was at the Ramsey County Group Home I belive..its in St. Paul Minnesota. He was born at Anchor Hospital (think thats the right spelling) and I have a copy of his birth cert, but it does not list any parent information. Just the day he was born, the doc that delivered and his name.

Oh...and we have no knowledge of any sibblings.

Just an idea yet to share. Somewhere in Ramsey County there is a storage facility where all old records are kept. Some records may have been transcribe to microfilm. The local library may be a good source as well. Your library may know of a local genealogy club meet and surely someone associated with such a group could lend great advice to you. Hopefully these records have not been destroyed. You can do the foot work yourself. Start by inquiring through the county system of such a storage place. You may have to get a lawyer who can request these type documents be pulled for your research. But I still think you can find something on your own. Ya, that was my thought too...only problem is that its 1500 miles away LOL Im starting to think its time for a vacation

Im in Florida, and all my family for generations back have been in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Once I get a bit more organized, I would love to spend a few days up there searching records, and visiting burial sites ect. Was just hoping there might be a way to do it from the far south hehe.

If the Ramsey County Historical Society doesn't help try the Minnesota Historical Society. They are wonderfully active and very helpful to people doing geneology. I'll look up the contact info and post it for you.

Thanks everyone for your help! I got the call the information, and we now have a name of papas brith mother! No father listed. I also have a an adress of where to write to request all documents!! Woo Hoo!

Now the search is on! Im in a mad rush to get as much info as I can so I can give Papa the info for his Birthday. Hes tried many times to find this info and has always been told different excuses, so he will be excited to learn this news!

Wish me luck....lots of research to be done before May 11th!
