Question! need advice

First time hatching chicks, and my first lil one hatched today Its only a few hours old and my concern is that it cant seem to hold up its neck. Is this normal for a newly hatched chick or should i worry?

Oh and how long do the sleep after the hatch?

Give it time. It's very tired from the journey. Let us know how it is in a few hours. They flop around pretty good until they are dried off...like a drunken sailor.

They sleep on and off all the time...like they have narcolepsy....they just konk out.​

Had a newly hatched Bob white Quail last weekend the same way.The next morning it was fine and mixed in with the others.Don't know which one any more there all fine and feathering out ,haven't lost a one out of 32...cva34

thank you to those who commented. The little guy/girl is now doing great, wabbling around and even ate a few bites. It has the cutest feathered feet
