Does anyone think a chicken that has tapeworms and also getting done with a molt makes them not want to eat I got a chicken that I’ve been treating been having to force feed I tried everything to get her to eat but she doesn’t go for it and yet she’s acting pretty normal she’ll eat anything she finds when she’s foraging please tell me that some of you have gone through what I have and know what to do I’ve been doing this longer than 4weeks now and it has not been great for my mental health Im stressed out cause this is my favorite chicken she’s brought so much joy in my life even when things were tough she would always find ways to amuse me

She’s 8 years old and the vet gave her basically a dewormer for cats he said I can use on her she is penned all the time except when I’m cleaning the coop and the coop is big what I’m feeding her is just some layer pellets that I get from a feed store I don’t know what kind

When you get a chance to look, we need more information.
What's the cat wormer?
What kind of pellets?

Do you have a picture of her droppings that show the tapeworm segments? Usually praziquantel is the best treatment for tapeworms. It is found in Equimax or Zimectrin Gold horse paste and also in Tapeworm tablets (Droncit or Drontal.) Equimax dosage is 0.16 ml given orally once and again after 14 days. Be aware that tapeworm eggs may be in the chickens droppings and also for in an intermediate host, such as a fly, an earthworm, snail or slug, beetles and grasshoppers—all things that may eat the tapeworm eggs. If your chickens eats one of those intermediate hosts, they get reinfected.
