Question of the Day - Friday, April 4th, 2025

We get really cold winters here. I have wool socks and had normal winter boots but they weren't enough.
Guess I'm thinking arctic weather boots. Keeping toes from getting cold ain't as easy as it used to be.
I polled a buncha Canadians I know, they all said look at the Baffins. They're spendy but they say the quality is better than colombia and LL bean's stuff. I can get away in my Justins and warm socks, or my lined snowboard shoes if we're up the hill, so I don't have a pair of real cold weather boots to compare to.

Only three pairs that count and a bunch that I don't know how to get rid of. There used to be a shoe drop off charity bin near where we used to live, but I haven't seen anything like that here.
Is there a shelter near you? Most of them are always looking for donations. Especially good kids and women's clothes and shoes. Worst case, a Goodwill? I try not to take things to them since they just sell most of it on for bulk, but I will take them the leftovers of what other places won't take.

11, I think? Some are seasonal and some are back ups if my primary shoes break. I'd like to get rid of a few pairs because there's only a few that I find necessary: my winter boots for winter, my daily hiking boots, my church sneakers, my keens for swimming, and my two pairs of slip-ons that I wear based on the season/weather. I do have a couple of pairs that are extras that are kinda necessary as they give me an occasional variety, which is a pair of boots I picked out of a dumpster (they're the variety for church and fancy events like my sister's wedding) and a pair of hiking sneakers (they're the variety when I want to wear my hiking boots somewhere but think I should wear something cleaner). All the rest of my shoes I don't really care for and will probably get rid of one of these days.
