Question of the Day - Friday, May 23rd, 2025

No but the majority "say" it incorrectly. They shorten my name and that's not how I introduce myself and not my name.
A guy was "trying" to pick me up 45 years ago and when I said my name is Kimberly, he responded Hi Kim. Ugh! I smiled and said Kimberly. the guy: "Kim, Kimberly what's the difference?" Me: Kim is to Kimberly what Mary is to Susan, two different names. Talk to me when you can pronounce 3 syllable words. And walked away. I remember, it was Great.

Yes, people spell mine with a K instead of a C all the time.
It's probably because I want to address people by their desired name, meaning full or shortened. I ask, which do you prefer? It it with a C or K? Is that Sara/h with or without an "h"? Working in a family restaurant, we wrote a person's name on their food ticket, so I would ask before spelling it wrong. I informed the rest of the staff to do so. A few did not care but most, who could have their name misspelled, had eyes that lite up when asked. It mattered to them.
