Yes. Probably tenderizing your arms for when you try to catch yourself and fall.

I had one that repeatedly laid down behind me as I was cooking. When I stepped on her tail she'd let out a blood-curdling scream, causing me to toss whatever I had in my hands up in the air. If not for the fact that it is against my religion to fall down, I very well might have done so, resulting in many a series of hilarious contortions on my part. For the record this was my GC's cat, not mine. She always escaped before I could catch my breath and find my butcher knife. Why'd she do it? I don't know. Adrenaline junkie? Twisted sense of humor? Your guess as good as mine.
