The Golden State
I usually look up to see what it looks like. If I can't find it (usually the jets) and am near my chickens, I'll look to them to see where they're looking because they'll see it long before I can. I live near a small airport, so on this one plane, I'm always instantly annoyed by it because it's very loud and it's engine is a bit annoying. On some of the planes, I do get occasionally worried because I'll be hearing it and they'll suddenly go quiet or sound different and I'll get worried that something is wrong with the plane (or paraglider) and that they might crash.

I love airplane noise! I grew up on a Marine base and I've always loved planes. I can still tell you what most military traffic is from the sound of the engines and I will drop everything and grab the camera if I hear certain aircraft. Like:

We seldom hear any, but if we do it's usually a helo so I may look up to see if it's military, police or ambu. Usually by the time I get outside to see, it's gone. We have a lot of trees.
