This is all to say that while I love my husband, and am in love with him, we can still argue, get upset with each other. Being in love doesn't mean blindly following along and going against what you want or believe. It means compromise and patience, also. Love is vast and complex, different for every person

Pick your disagreements, not battles for a long long time, for me. Really since I began to pray, Lord, make me a better wife. Instead of, Lord, make him a better husband. That took God to change my heart.

It was about 4.75 years after our marriage when I became a Christian. Change of perspective and my attitude.

I agree is thrown/used way too loosely, as you can tell from my post, hence the project for the class and me for my life.

I don't need to ponder it anymore as I realize that it can mean your three examples but it is also misused for like. Envy is a strong word if one knows it's meaning. I'm not sure many know/understand that it means that one who is envious is resentful towards the one who has what they want. Discontent because they do not have "it", the object of the envy. There are a few more definitions but they are all negative. Another misused word.

Envy has never been one of my 7 deadliest thankfully. I know what you mean by the resent. I see and hear it a lot. Here's an idea, work for what it is you want and stop whining, and if it's keeping up with Jones', disappointment. MORE,MORE, MORE, I'll pass.

Correct. Some of unhappiest people I know are the ones who wanted to keep up with the Jones' or surpass them in Stuff. They Would not, I will not write Could not, be happy where they were.

Sadly, I knew someone, when young, in teens was happy. Then when 20ish, saw a couple of friends marry someone with money and they bought stuff. Her older sister married, middle class but both worked hard and did well. She married and nagged her husband for more, always more. 2 cars, better cars, new home, bigger home...depending on what her friends had. She went through 2 or 3 husbands, a few houses and cars. Her husbands divorced her because one said, he could never make her happy. She committed suicide when she was in her early 40s. Keeping up with the Jones' does not make for happiness.

YES! to love at first sight when I see baby chicks!

For human....Love at first sight??? I don't know if that is possible, but life is full of possibility so..might be there is.

The soul knows when one first meet a person, that is what I believe.

Keeping up with the Jones is a real battle these days, fancy car, big house, designer clothes, endless travels, all sort of materials things and people look down on people that do not have those like them. Conversations are about have or have not.

Then the news report on increase of loneliness, stress, depression ..etc... I say they need to have a few chickens so they can be back with nature, loving being, and the love they feel from their chickens will give them love and peace.

It could be said that if you don't have those couple of things, as well as a few more, than it isn't love, but only infatuation. That is the part you two may not be getting with this love thing.

That doesn't mean that people that are truly in love don't end up growing apart for several different reasons, because it can, and does, happen.

And, so, by saying that, I will also say there is no such thing as love at first sight. Or, at least in the kind of love for people to form a marriage. That would be an attraction, an infatuation, or something along those lines that could very will grow into love. But, very well could not.

The only love at first sight would be with parents and their children. That love at first sight is real, I promise you that. It is similar to the love you could feel for your significate other, but not exactly the same.

Also, love at first sight could be with things. I mean you may love a plant for example upon seeing it, but you don't have to respect it. All it has to do is look pretty or smell good. But, not the same kind of love either.

There are different kinds of love that you will realize once you have experienced them.

Edit to add: When you feel in your heart that you will surely die for this person to protect them, to keep them safe, then you have truly experienced love for a person.
