No. My high school boyfriend tried to get the nickname "Apey" going, but that didn't sit well for a number of reasons.

My entire family has nicknames, and once you become a grandparent your nickname becomes your name. If anyone in our family dared to call a grandparent any derivation of "grandma" or "grandpa" rather than the nickname, they'd get their butts wupped.
