I never intended to. Chemicals? Horrors! But .... sigh. His mom and sister persuaded me to do it for our wedding. (Because I was so grey everyone thought I was his mom.) I told them I'd do it once but never again. Yes you will, they insisted. Heh. They didn't know me. How can you stand for it to look like that? they cried, later (it was down to my waist). Because I'm the only one in the world who doesn't have to look at it, I told them. And I never did again.

Me too. Dyed it white once to go with a Halloween costume. It turned out slightly blonde, because I have very dark hair.

Does henna only work on lighter colors of hair?

It will tint it. I'm a natural brunette, so my hair comes out a deep auburn, but I've also got some grey coming in at my temples and those come out a fiery auburn that look straight up orange when freshly dyed, but darken to a more natural looking color after a couple days. If you have black hair, it'll make you look like you have red lowlights. I don't actually know anyone with lighter shades of hair who use straight henna, to be honest. They tend to use either cassia or henna/cassia mixes.

I did, in college. I did it black with a colored strip in the front. The black always stayed the same, but the colors changed as they faded out: blue, pink, blue fading to purple.

Later, I colored it dark auburn.

Then I got smart and let it go natural, which is a medium brown with red highlights. Now, it's starting to go grey and I kind of like it.

Nope, never. My hair gets so light it's almost blonde in summer, and then darkens in winter. So it colors itself.

Yeah. My little brother went as some Star Wars guy. Wrong franchise, but it was still fun to jump in front of him and yell “captain!” And pretend to die at every house on the block.
