I say God Bless you. If they are too far away to hear me (without yelling), I say; God, Bless them.

I say Covid! or bless you. If they are too far away to hear me I just mumble it to myself.

I say Gesundheit. Which is "health" in German.

I say, "Don't die!" or "Try not to die!" Which is also how I say good bye and end phone calls. Friends and family usually respond back with some form of, "You're not my boss!" Strangers are usually somewhat taken aback or are quick with some sort of witty or offbeat reply. The latter are the types with potential to move from "stranger" to "friend."

What popped into my head to say in reply to "Don't die!" is, "Nope, it's not on my to do list today."

To "Try not to die!" I'd say, "I've never done that, so I don't know how."
