I see no problem with it.
People put mayo in fruit salad, chicken salad with grapes, etc.

No. And I don't intend to. That sounds disgusting. Bananas have a horrible taste and texture on their own and I can only imagine what they would be like mixed with mayo in a sandwich.

The idea actually reminds me of something sort of like pastelón, in a way, with the plaintain... which I know is a different dish, and many people love, but the combination just doesn't feel meant to be to me

I eat bananas daily, and don't mind mayonnaise on bread with a sliced tomato on top,
But banana and mayo combo just doesn't tickle my taste-buds
