Do you pronounce "Z" as "Zee" or "Zed"

I have never heard of using zed instead of zee, though. And, I certainly don’t understand the point of it. I can’t think of reason for it.
Blame the Brits. They started it and it's common in crown-settled areas.

Except here, because we tossed their odd pronunciations and extra vowels in the harbor along with the tea.

Wish we could do something about the similarity between the letters S and F. Once got into a rather hilarious and baffling convo with my sister over the phone when trying to ask her if she had any idea where I might find our mother's SIFTER (I was baking in mom's kitchen while mom was on vaca).
Me: have you seen mom's sifter?
Nancy. Which sister?
Me: She only has one.
N: One?! She has five!
Me: What are you talking about? Why would she need five sifters?
N: (silence) are we talking about the same thing? How are you spelling sisters?
Me. Sigh. SIFTER. S-I-F-T-E-R. SIFTER. I'm trying to bake a cake here.
N: okay, S as in Sam, I as in igloo, S as in Sam ....
Me: what? No! S as in Sam, I as in igloo, F as in FRANK! SIFTER!

Maybe we should say call the letter Fed. Like sensible Brits. 🙄

Now, now. I can see the reason for it. Not to be confused with the letter C, pronounced See. Very confusing over the phone. I rather like Zed.
It's easy on the phone.

"Z, like Zuuuul"

I do hate having to do the c as in Charlie, p as in Paul etc when giving my email to someone over the phone. Such a pain, and to make it worse when they read it back to you it will still be a letter or two off. Then, you wait on the email that never comes. Well, I sent it, let me refresh, no still don’t have it, let’s go over it again. No, that is e as in echo. Ok, yes. I just resent it, I still don’t have it, let me refresh, no, refresh, uh no. Did you put the dot after the b? 😤
