What are some of your favorite war movies?

Mine are:
  • The Great Escape
  • Apocalypse Now
  • Saving Private Ryan
  • Three Kings
  • The Killing Fields
  • Bridge on the River Kwai
  • Patton
  • The Dirty Dozen
I could go on and on!

I try to avoid war movies. Especially the current day/decade ones and based on true stories. They're just far too violent for me. That being said, war TV series, I really liked 'Lioness'.
My mom loves 'All Quiet on the Western Front'

I like The Patriot, most of the Rambo movies, and Hacksaw Ridge. The Patriot movie is definitely my favorite though. The filming is so good.

I haven’t watched any, alas. I prefer reading war books - memoirs and biographies and histories. I’ve visited lots of military museums though that showed documentaries - I don’t know if that counts as a war movie!
