Jurassic, or maybe Cretaceous.

Cretaceous, because that's when the T-rex was around.

Also, Texas has tons of Cretaceous rock deposits. I loved camping wherever dinosaur footprints could be found.

Edit: Had to add this. Even though it's a few years old, it's still neat. Chickens ARE dinosaurs.
