Question of the Day - Tuesday, August August 5th, 2025

The curious one was very bad propaganda, to this day I still think I could handle having a pet monkey, if Dora and the man in the yellow hat did it, why not me😂
You really, really, really do not want a pet monkey or ape, they are horrendous pets. Sure they start out fine enough but as they get older they get more aggressive and unpredictable and they can seriously mess you up if they decide to

Oh I'm well aware, I've seen the documentaries and the victims, I watched all that stuff when I was a kid and it scarred me for life🙈
But still I do really, really, really think I could do it. I'd want a squirrel monkey.
I'll probably never have a pet monkey, the diapers gross me out so bad🤮
I'd rather have a pet alligator, a rescue or something, and I'd build a really awesome enclosure and I'd leave it the heck alone unlike the Steve Irwin wannabes who think it's a good idea to hand feed and wrangle the poor things.

And then you'd have to go through the expense of feeding them and cleaning the area and let me tell you from personal experience alligators stink (originally from Florida and have seen and smelled a few). Even now I remember the scent of them and I don't have a particularly good sense of smell. And the reptile would need to be handled at least sometimes for medical care and to move it somewhere else when doing an extensive cleaning

Personally I'll stick with the usual pets and livestock

Already planned on breeding pigs, poultry, and rabbits for reptile owners so might as well own my own reptile who eats those things🤷🏻‍♂️

That's why it's not going to be joined to my house, plus I already have multiple snakes in my bedroom and boy do they stank when they poop🤢

Of course but that's a rare occasion and even then handling is minimal with protection and help.

Yeah that's definitely what most people should do. The only reason I'd want to own anything like an alligator, large python, or raccoon is because of those people who casually own them for fun and then realize what a hassle they are. They can't just be tossed back into your local state park, someone has to care for them. Ideally those animals are left alone where they belong.
