Do you add salt to watermelon?

We did when I was a kid. A couple decades back, I was told I had high blood pressure, so I laid off of salt. It wasn't hard to do, I just decided not to use salt at the table, or whatever. I only use salt in cooking, and not much then. (Baking and canning is another matter - if it calls for salt, I add the salt!) I think my food actually tastes better without salt. And, yes, that goes for watermelon! No salt on fruit for me!

The typical salt found at the stores is really bad for you. Look at the ingredients, most of the time, it's not just salt. There are additives and some even have dextrose in them. I use Redmond's Real Salt, it's mined from an ancient sea bed in Utah. It has over 60 trace minerals in it and no additives or gross things. A good quality sea salt or Himalayan salt is good too

Absolutely. It makes it taste more like watermelon, if that makes sense.
Salt is a flavor enhancer. It makes all foods taste more like themselves. It does so by activating your salivary glands and thus stimulating your taste buds. (It's science!)

So yes, I do salt my watermelon, and virtually all juicy fruits such as peaches, apples, cantaloupe, etc. But not bananas, cherries or strawberries.
