If you are getting chicks this year, are you hatching or buying?

Not getting chicks this year but if I were, buying as I would rather avoid having to deal with cockerels if possible. I could deal with one but they don't really contribute to my overall goals and it's just potentially extra hassle

Both. Planned to hatch, which we did and had 15 chicks. Just prior to that, we purchased 6 chicks, that we think are all pullets.
We purchased the 6 as I did not think that many eggs were fertilized and would hatch and knew many would be cockerels. Hoping for 7-8 pullets from the 15.

Hatched chicks and currently hatching ducklings.
Wasn’t planning on buying any more chicks. Ended up purchasing nine. The bantam bin at Tractor Supply got me.
