hey everyone, i have a loft with a few pigeons who, at the moment , i dont let out due to settling a new bird. our neighbor just recently started letting their rag-doll cat outside. (ive heard you arnt suppost to let that breed be outdoors) she keeps coming under the fence and just sitting their and staring at the pigeons. again, ive heard that rag-doll cats have quite poor hunting instincts. when i do let my birds out, with they be in a lot of danger? are their laws agenst other peoples animals on my proporty being a threat to my birds? any1 with ideas or personal experience on simmiler circumstances please give your advise. thanks in advance!

Don't take the risk. There are cats around here and they don't bother the pigeons. But if its creeping on them, don't let your birds out.

It depends on the cat. Some cats share houses with birds and let the birds ride on their backs and sit right beside them, and the cats look so bored like they have no intention of harming the bird. As if the bird wasn't even there! Then other cats will pounce on a bird in a heartbeat. There is a reason why I no longer have cats. My cat climbed up a tree, jumped onto the roof of my aviary, went through the bob trap, and killed a few of my birds. I found him on the loft floor eating one of them while it's wings and other body parts were strewn across the floor. I was furious. Took care of that and now I don't have to worry about it! There are mostly dogs around here. I rarely see any strays or domestics going for a stroll through the yard anymore. But if I do, I set traps just in case. I doubt other cats would have known to do what mine did. I think it was because mine was around the loft everyday and figured it out. And other cats I only see once or twice passing through.
