i posted on here about hand turning and got some great advice (thanks all) but i do have a couple more questions! i started out hand turning a bunch of eggs because my turner was full. i just set some eggs into lockdown so now my turner is free. would it be ok to move my hand turned eggs into the turner, or should i not change the position they have been in for the past week? also, i have been hatching in egg cartons and i like it because i dont have to watch them play kickball with the unhatched eggs, but can i put my hand turned eggs into a carton to hatch or would that mess them up because of the different position?

thanks!

Moving them shouldn't matter. From what I've done and what I've read, the more opportunity you have to move the eggs in different positions, the stronger the chick. I have a Brinsea ECO 20 without a turner so I rock the unit every time I walk past. When I candle the eggs, I always try to put them in a different location (that's just part of my insanity) thinking being neighbor to a different egg is a good thing...hahahaha!!!

Really though, I don't think you can hurt them...just make sure you maintain temps and humidity quickly.

good luck!!

No - it shouldn't matter.

However when using a carton, or egg turner your eggs should always be positioned

pointy end facing down, fat end up. I've incubated & hatched eggs successfully in egg

cartons. Wishing you the best of luck!
