I think it is ugly too but you get used to it fast, a neighbor was over recently and made a comment about how my ducks had a face diseaseI've never had Muscovies, but folks sure do sing their praises! Is it shallow of me to think that their fleshy faces are ugly?

I've heard nothing but good things about them, even met a few and was shocked at how calm they were, but those ugly faces...
I always thought they were mighty ugly to!!! Until I got a couple extremely cute ducklings... The sweetest ever and they changed looks so gradually that they became such dear looking ducks. The tamest ever!!! My 6or7yr at the time daughter carried the big ducks around no problem. And they never hurt her when with their 'claws'. Then I heard they are the BEST meat duck, less greasy and that they also are good layers ... So now I'm hoping for more.I've never had Muscovies, but folks sure do sing their praises! They are kind of ugly until you own one, then they grow on you.
