question on eggs

Sometimes when I crack open an egg, the yolk is already broken and it seems like the "white" is very liquidy (if that's a word), watery. It seems to be very runny, thin. The yolk is not cracked from me breaking it, it was already broken up inside.

Has anyone else had this issue and are they still ok to eat?
They are from Sept. 7 and today's the 19. Only 12 days old. Is that considered too old to eat?

Thanks.

I wouldn't consider that 'too old to eat' if stored properly.

Have you tried opening a fresher egg?
Are all the eggs like this or just from one bird?

Might be hard to pin down but more info would help.
How many birds(ages and genders),
in how much coop/run space(dimensions and pics),
and what and how exactly are you feeding???

we leave them on the counter, unwashed. Not all eggs do this. Just some but from different birds. Plenty of room, they are free-ranged over an acre and half. About 20 birds but not all do it, even from the same day.

I've cracked open in a separate bowl, if the yolk has not yet been cracked it's definitely flat and when I transfer to another bowl, definitely breaks apart very easily. Just very runny, watery, like it splashes when it drops in the bowl, vs. what you would expect, full plump yoke, thick white. Definitly the white is very thin, watery. I don't believe I've seen this from a day old egg. So I guess I'm attributing it to "old". But didn't think 2 weeks from a backyard chicken would be considered old? Unless the chicken is old????

Thanks for the responses. :)
