Question on hen raising guinea keets

Well one keet survived so I've had mama chicken with her one little keet in a separate penned area in the coop since 9/28. The little one is feathered out and growing. Mama kinda acts like she's wants out to free range with the other chickens and guineas in the farm yard so today I gave her the opportunity and she didn't go out of their pen. Should I leave both of them penned up for another month or so?? Should I let them both out to free range & hope the baby doesn't get attacked by the adult guineas & chickens? The last time I had keets they were hatched from a friend's incubator - no broody mama to contend with - just not sure how to transition the little one.

I`ve got a hen that stole her nest and hatched 7 chicks on 10/4. She keeps the guineas and dog away from them by fiercely defending them. Most hens will do that for their young. I believe you should let her free range with her keet and see how they interact with the others. Her keet is a month old and out of the two week "danger zone", so it should be quick enough to stay out of harms way. Of course they are all different, so just see how it goes.......Pop
