Question on nesting boxes

Hi everyone,
Just wondering when we need to have nesting boxes in our coop ... we have six Sexlinks (Delaware/Rhode Island Red) that are 9 weeks old.

well my chickens are 12 weeks right now and i put a nesting box in for them and they rarely go in it and they just try to eat the pine shavings. i would say add a nesting box closer to their laying age, maybe 18 weeks old.

Thanks for the reply ... we have lots going on and were thinking of putting it off until the end of July ... they'll be about 15 weeks old then.
