I bought some hens from MPC. 5 Red Sex Links and one EE. Does anyone know how these RSLs are told apart at birth? Is it by color? By feathers? What I am asking is it a fool proof method for assuring hens?

Red Sex Link males are white if proper breeding took place.

Females are a cinnamon color.

From what I've read it's by color. The girls are chipmunk and the boys are white. Mine were brown and all girls at 16 weeks.

Mine were all redish with two darker chipmonky stripes I assumed it was by color just curious. They are three weeks today and looking very different now.
