4 red sex links, 4 weeks old. I bought them when they were about 5 days old. (They’re loosing their fluff and growing feathers so pardon the bed head look.) They were said to be red sex links, but pictures I look at online look different than mine. Are mine girls something different or does it totally depend on what exactly was bred together?? Not important just curious.

There are a number of different crosses that can make Red Sexlinks, and some of them can look like that. The most common ones have white feathers in the tails and wings.

Given the color of your chicks, they could be Red Sexlinks (one of the less common crosses). Or they could be Rhode Island Reds or New Hampshires or Production Reds, all of which grow up to be red with black tails. For those three, the males and females have the same coloring, because they are not sexlinks.
