well I have 18 and 7 of those are silkies which seem to be fine. Although one had a really bad weezing thing happening about 2 weeks ago. I brought her in the house and kept her warm in a dark area and gave her some yogurt and she is 100% better now. But when the temps got really cold for a few days here in Maryland thats when I started to hear sneezing and coughing from about 7 of my other chickens. I have been keeping them in their coop and keeping it warm as usual.... and gave them some ACV and most seemed to improve. Now really it is my blue Langshan Roo that has a constant cough and sneezing.
When we went to go and pick up an extra bag of pellet food my husband told our local farm/amish store the symptoms of my flock and he said it sounded like an URI.
So yesterday I started them on the Agrimycin and they were drinking up the water! So I shall see if there is any slight improvement today. If not I will give the drops on the beak a try. If I do that then is there a certain mixture to make up for the drops dosage?
I had no idea what to use hubby just came out of the store with the Agrimycin powder. But I will remember for in the future to try Tylan. I figure I can't complain that hubby actually took the time to ask and get something for them. As they are my responsibility. lol
Question... since I can't eat the eggs now since they are on the antibiotics can I cook them up and feed back to them for at least while they are being dosed? Then stop when I take them off the antibiotics?
Thank you very much Sammi for your advice! I greatly appreciate it. I try and do my own research before posting but sometimes I guess I am too frustrated to find my answers....
Thanks again!
