Question re Dry Incubation and araucana x BC Maran

Hello,

Lock down today for my Araucana x Black Copper Maran eggs. I’ve got 2 questions if anyone could possibly help.

1, I’ve read that you could expect an earlier hatch when you dry incubate. Has anyone experienced this?

And 2, does anyone have this cross breed. Can they be sexed early on?

I dry incubate my Marans, Swedish Flower and other large fowl. They usually pip/hatch on days 20/21.

If they are hatching early, the temp might be too high.

Cross breeds can sometimes be harder to sex earlier. Say because they have a combination of pea/straight comb. So standard comparison might not be valid. Most of my Marans can be sexed as early as 4 weeks but often before 6.
