pascopol, I can't help but get tickled at your constant bashing of styrofoam incubators. Many people apparently are happily and successfully using them...did you choke on a piece of styrofoam or something when you were a kid??
No, I did not choke on piece of styrofoam when I was a kid.
In those happy times there was no styrofoam and many other materials polluting the environment.
That's one of the reasons I had a happy childhood.
By the way my first bator was "Little Monster" (LG) styrobator.
It killed more chicks than it hatched.
It is mind boggling what we have done to this planet. Have you read any on the "plastic islands" down in the south Pacific ( I think that's where they're at)...it's a giant area where ocean currents come together and deposits astronomical amounts of PLASTIC. There are some regular islands in the area and the beaches are basically made of ground up, pulverized plastic.
You're dating yourself with the statement about no styrofoam, etc., when you were a child...what year did you finish highschool? My father grew up in the 30's and from the things I remember him telling me it was hard, tough, but...good times. Folks had time to sit on the porch, visit neighbors, play with the kids, and a handshake was "goodenuff"...a bit different now.
Well, if I can get some irons out of the fire I hope to become one of the addicted the end of the month and set some eggs.
"Little Monster"...good name for it and sounds like you got to know all to well. I know you don't care for styrobators, but some I think you'll agree, are better than others. I'm just a newbie here but have heard so many more negative posts from styrobator users about the LG than the HB's but yet it seems that everyday somebody pops up with a new LG. Looks like TSC is doing a good job promoting them and I guess it's a sign of the times where folks want that instant gratification and can't wait for the brown truck to pull up to their house.
Ah well, better get going,
Take care,
Ed
