Hello, I have a question. One of our Easter eggers, Wheatly, is about 21 weeks old now and has been laying nearly every day since she started laying 1 and 1/2 weeks ago, with the exception of 1 missed day. Every single egg she has laid has been a double yolker, very large eggs. Every one. Not that I'm complaining because that record seems to be great for a new layer but I'm wondering if this is "normal"? Is it OK (healthwise) that she is laying like this so early in the game? She is the sweetest hen in our flock. Very affectionate. I don't want anything harmful to happen to her. Please bear with me if that's a stupid question but I am new to this. LOL She behaves perfectly normal and healthy. :) Thanks in advance for any info you can offer.

Boy, you do have a great little layer there I'll say!! She most likely is just getting her system geared correctly...I wouldn't worry except to watch her for any obvious changes in behavior or feeling sick. Boy I think that's great getting those double-yolkers!!

Thank you. It is great. And the eggs taste great too. Some of the others are laying now too (6 out of 12 younglings) but they're first eggs have been sporadic and small, which I know is normal for newbies. But, sweet Wheatly's eggs are consistent, huge and every one of them is a 2 yolker. Amazing. :)
