Question to those with front load washing machines....

xe4: It's like you've read my mind.... Word for word. Glad to hear I'm not the only one frustrated.
SarahFair: Yep, I buy all the right detergent and stuff for it. I considered having someone come out and give it maintenance but frankly, we are selling our house and I am going to leave my "awesome" washer and dryer for the new home owners. Everyone compliments me on them but no way in heck do I ever recomend them.

My mother got a front load washer made by Sears, Neptune??? or a name of the Greek God. She loves hers and it does not stink at all but she keeps her door open a crack.

Does your's have a cleaning cycle? I just fill the bleach cup and run it on the cleaning cycle. They also make tablets you can put in and wash on the cleaning cycle. But mine is new and maybe mine will start stinking too despite my cleaning cycle! Sorry...totally rots. Makes me wish I new all this before my husband got me mine.

I am very glad for this thread ~ I am thinking about getting a new washer soon as my old one is acting up. I had thought about a front load ~ but the more I hear about them the more I think I will stay with a top load. I like that when DH is done working out I can throw his sweaty clothes in for a pre-soak and add other stuff later. My sister also complains that her jeans always come out of the washer with the legs "twisted".

There is a product made for this. It's called Affresh, I get it at Home Depot. It seems to help. I usually do all my laundry on Sundays and every few weeks I'll run a cleaning cycle with an Affresh tablet after all the wash is finished. Then I leave the door open overnight to dry and it seems to do the trick. After a few weeks it gets smelly and I do it again.

Oh we will learn and go on until our front loaders goes out LOL! It is very popular nowadays and easy on your $$$$ for water and gas to run the things.

I Have the same problem. I run a cycle with no clothes and a lot of bleach, does the trick for about 2 washes and then stinky clothes again. I hate it and want to get a top loader again, I just hate how much water a top loader uses. Does any one have a Whirlpool Cabrio? I heard they don't use a lot of water.

I have a front load to Bosch brand. I LOVE it!!! I haven't had any problems with smell. I did however buy this stuff called Affresh washer cleaner. I think from Lowes or Home Depot. It's a tablet you put in. But I have never really had to use it for smell, I just use it in case.
