question

Do a general search for "ducks" on CL. Get a map, and figure out where the closest ones are. Or, you can out in your zip code and number of miles you are willing to travel.

I did and nothing in the Kitsap county area. When I lived in NC I traveled 2hrs to get my Muscovy duck a friend. But once I did looked Muscovy duck in wa state I found a few posts. Look like I’m gonna have to travel another 2hrs or so for another friend for my baby girl Jafar. But thank you again

Those are just the ones I found closer to you than me. Seriously, Muscovy are extraordinarily easy to fine in the Puget Sound area. All of those are within about an hour of Poulsbo unless you want to avoid the ferry. The second one is in Silverdale, which is Kitsap.

I saw some of those posts.
Thanks again.
I emailed couple of them and asked if they been hand raised around people and other animals.
Jafar has been an indoor/outdoor duck. And she has been raised around dogs and cats. She plays with my one dog sometimes but she’s prefer to chill with the cats.

In your area, they likely aren't being raised as pets (they wouldn't be in my area either). Muscovy aren't generally raised in rural areas around here as pets. They aren't normally indoor pets either. I'd absolutely never heard of anyone having an indoor duck until BYC. If I were you, I might keep that particular information under my hat.

The people I've met that have Muscovy around here chose them because they're relatively quiet, dress out to a nice size bird, lay eggs, and eat slugs really well.

I have met people with indoor pigs, and with housetrained rabbits!

Indoor duck pets would be seen a bit like having a pet gator in Florida. Ducks and alligators are "outdoor" animals in certain areas, so the idea of them being indoor pets is kind of considered weird.

@Daphne_loves_mealworms has two muscovys living with her Rouen duck says they get on great.

That they do! In the beginning, my hubby let them all out together (groan), and the tiny Muscovies chased Daphne (my Rouen) all over the place. That is how they got their names (the Goons). Once I separated them so that the could see but not touch for a while, things calmed down. Then, everyone got supervised time during the day, but were separated at night. Soon after, I let them all stay overnight together and they’ve been happy ever since!
