My 6-week old chicks have been introduced to the older hens. All is good. Can I now put the young ones, in a crate, in the hen house at night?

How I grow chicks out. As long as the little ones are protected from the roosting birds not getting pooped on.

Set up the crate so the littles can get in and out but not the bigs. Have lots of places to hide behind and perch on in the run. They should do fine.

If they are secure and cannot get pecked at from the inside, that would be just fine.
