my chicken came from a farm that held 300 in a coop. when i went to get the chickens the coop didn't have any roosts and it only had nesting boxes. how do i show the chickens to use the roost or will they cuddle up on the ground? or will they sleep in there nesting boxes?

Hey...I would let them do their thing and watch them. If they are not using the roost then go in the coop at night and put them up on it.....See what they do. They might have to learn that it is okay to be happy! Good luck

where do you think they stayed at night in there old coop? because it had no roosts

leave them alone an they will figure out how to use the roost sooner or later.theres no need in panicing because they dont roost.some hens like to sleep on the ground.
