Ok so I had 3 Narragansett turkey poults, then 1 died a couple days after getting it. I looked online at it looked exactly as "flip over syndrom". So now I have 2 spunky turkey poults. They are now 1 1/2 weeks old. I have read before I got the poults that turkeys were hard to raise cause they die out of the blue. I'm wondering if there is an age, that if my poults reach I will be in the clear and know they'll be ok ?

If they don't Starve-out/Flip Over/develop Spraddle Leg, etc. (in the first few weeks), they are pretty much good to go. By three months they are usually toughened up (immune system fully functional/able to handle rapid temp. changes and precipitation). Keep them in controlled environment until they start driving you crazy (three to four weeks) and then transition them to the outdoors (during warmest part of day).

Some folks keep their poults completely off of the ground for longer periods. We've yet to lose a poult hatched & brooded by hens (usually keep an eye on them when they are out of shed/run with hens because they are too curious for their own good, sometimes).
