So were short on hens for the two bantam roosters that we have, we have 4 hens although 1 went broody, so there's 3 the lower ranking rooster walks around by his self now since his hen went broody and the others don't leave the other roosters side, we have around 6 baby chicks that's are around 3 months old and are females!! I was wondering when could the roosters begin mateing them?
Thanks

Welcome to BYC!

You need to let the younger girls grow up and be ready for laying before the rooster mates with them. They are too young and he could hurt them. So just let the rooster be and allow the younger birds to grow up. He can wait until the broodies are done with their motherly duties.

Welcome to our flock!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! X2 the dominant rooster may not let the 2nd have any more hens and it is usually easiest to wait until the girls are laying or really close to it to introduce them them to a roo,
