I'm debating wheather I should let my 4 month old chicks go inside the coop with the daddy roo, but I'm not sure if the rooster will try to kill them, I cooped them up together for 1 hour and everything was fine and well but, I'm still kinda scared he'll turn his back on them and kill them!! There isn't any hens with him there seperated due to other reasons so its just the chicks and the rooster, what do you guys think? There's 10 chicks by the way

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Do you know if the chicks are pullets or cockerels? My main concerns would be if they are cockerels he may see them as competition and go after them, if they are pullets he will probably try to mate with them and they could still be to young.

Welcome to BYC!

I have to agree with Drumstick Diva here. I would keep these younger birds separate until they are at least of breeding age so the roo will not hurt them.

Welcome to our flock and good luck with yours!
